51 turbines at the Walney Offshore wind farm have been completed and are now able to generate electricity.Located in the Irish Sea, the turbines have a total installed capacity of 183.6MW.

The final phase of the wind farm, which includes a further batch of 51 turbines, is expected to produce around 1,300 GWh (gigawatt hours) of electricity per year, enough to power roughly 320,000 homes.

DONG Energy and Scottish and Southern Energy are the key players in the Walney wind project.
