It’s a new look – but same great style and substance

However violently I’m opposed to facelifts (who wants that frozen fish pout?) there are one or two exceptions to the rule in my book.

Just as it is incredibly satisfying to get a new frock or, I’d imagine, a new suit, when it comes to a website redesign, a little reboot can make the world of difference.

The key thing – as any fashion icon like Chanel for the ladies, or Burberry for the gents would doubtless tell you – is keep it simple. Keep it classic.

And that’s been an abiding aim when crafting the new look ELN – and here it is!

Our team’s resident graphics master has drafted design after design, with our Editor Sumit and the whole editorial team chipping in their tuppence and expertise whether it’s page layout to be easy on the eye or linking up to Facebook and Twitter.

What a few months it’s been in the making.

Now you should be able to find all of our news much more easily on your laptops, PCs, tablets and phones.

We’ve created some snappy, fun Easy Guides to the power markets, the Big Six and renewable energy and have more to come throughout the year.

Not only that but we’re going to make more of the same fantastic videos, giving you more insight into the world of energy efficiency – whether it’s a castle or a supermarket – as well as the latest in energy policy.

We’ll be running polls about the biggest energy issues – from fracking to nuclear – so make sure you vote in them!

For those energy users, buyers and suppliers amongst you, there’s also going to be a new in-depth side to the site – we’ll keep you posted on this, it’s not to be missed. For now, check out our short and sweet case study films on our scarlet homepage.

As ever please let us know what you think – we love to hear from our readers. But I hope you’ll agree we’ve not gone for a facelift – just a wardrobe change!
