Energy efficient improvements are taking place at some residential buildings in Bucharest.
The European Investment Bank is helping refurbish houses in the Sector 4 municipality of the city by providing €19.5 million (£15.21m).
The loan is the second phase of a €42 million (£32.7m) programme approved in 2014, which is expected to result in around 50% savings in heating energy consumption.
The project covers 140 buildings comprising 9,500 apartments, it expects to save 74GWh of power per year and will cost around €56 million (£43.6m).
