Cubico Sustainable Investments has bought a 50MW solar park from British Solar Renewables (BSR).

Owl’s Hatch solar farm is the 11th project it has purchased from BSR over the last eight months. These projects generate a total of 120MW of energy.

The latest solar project itself generates enough energy to power 12,600 homes each year.

Located in Herne Bay, Kent, the solar farm was originally developed by BSR, which will remain the operations and maintenance provider.

Cubico raised around £47.8 million in equity from German bank Nord/LB, with a further £24.5 million provided by Hastings Managed Funds.

David Swindin, Head of EMEA at Cubico said: “We are delighted to have worked with BSR again and to add one of the largest solar farms in the UK to our growing portfolio.”
