Energy UK has released its latest data on electricity switching, indicating that in January 2024, 185,000 customers opted to change their energy supplier.
This represents a significant uptick of 58% compared to the same period in 2023.
However, despite this notable increase, January’s figures fall short of the recent peak observed in October 2023 when 260,909 customers switched suppliers.
This peak was partly attributed to a seasonal spike in business customers changing providers.
