London and Scotland lead the UK with the highest provision of charging devices per 100,000 people, boasting 221 and 93 devices respectively, compared to the national average of 89 per 100,000

London and Scotland boast the highest provision of charging devices per 100,000 people in the UK, with 221 and 93 devices respectively, while the UK average stands at 89 per 100,000.

Northern Ireland holds the lowest provision at 29 devices per 100,000, followed by the North West and Yorkshire and the Humber with 53 each.

Scotland leads in 50kW and above device provision, with 24.2 per 100,000, surpassing the UK average of 17.3, while Northern Ireland has the lowest provision at 7 per 100,000.

According to new government data, charging device numbers increased in all regions between January and March 2024, with the North East experiencing the highest rise (21.7%) and London the lowest (5.1%).

Similarly, data reflecting 50kW and above devices indicates increases across the UK, with Yorkshire and the Humber showing the smallest percentage growth (8.8%) and Northern Ireland the largest (70.5%), translating to 55 additional devices.
