An energy switching site is lamenting another potential bill rise of 20% from the Big Six because of rising wholesale prices.
uswitch is concerned customers could face a bill increase of as much as 24%, with the average customer paying £1,500 a year to heat their home. It worries some people could be forced to turn off their energy supplies altogether.
Ann Robinson, Director of Consumer Policy at uSwitch, said: “Any rises would be devastating. Most people only just survived last winter with 80% rationing their energy use.
“If costs go up any more, people will be too scared to turn the heating on.”
