The energy market is working and is not flawed, according to the CEO of RWE npower. He said this at npower’s Energy Debate chaired by ELN editor, Sumit Bose.

Speaking at the event yesterday, Volker Beckers said: “I do believe the market isn’t flawed. I do believe that the market is working. And I do believe the only question we need to find the answer to is how do we attract investment.”

When questioned about changes he would bring to the industry as Energy Minister, he said he would make biomass prices more challenging and would focus on energy efficiency measures.

The debate ‘Taking Control in Uncertain Times’ was aimed to discuss about the challenges faced in the industry today and to give npower’s customers a chance to voice their opinions.
