ENGIE expands UK biomethane portfolio

The energy company has completed the acquisition of Rainbarrow Farm anaerobic digestion facility in Dorset

ENGIE has completed its acquisition of Rainbarrow Farm anaerobic digestion (AD) facility in Dorset, increasing its presence in the UK biomethane sector.

Biogas, generated from agricultural feedstock breakdown, serves as the foundation for renewable gas production at Rainbarrow Farm.

The AD facility, operational for over a decade, supplies energy to the local community.

Stuart Rennie, Managing Director of ENGIE Renewable Gases UK stated: “This acquisition is another important step in the expansion of our renewable gas portfolio in the fast-growing UK market.

“Rainbarrow Farm AD is providing the community with much-needed renewable energy and is contributing to the country’s energy transition and its energy sovereignty.”
